Bangabandhu Bangladesh Open 2022 to be postponed And PGTI Launches after 02 years in Chittagong and Dhaka .

Dhaka. 15 January 2022. The Bangabandhu Bangladesh Open 2022 was postponed to a later part of the year due to the ongoing ‘Omicron concerns and travel restrictions to Bangladesh.
The US$400,000 full field Asian Tour event was initially scheduled to be staged at the Kurmitola Golf Club in Dhaka from March 16-19 ,2022.
The coordinator of BGF Lt Col Abdul Bari(retd) informed that Bangaldesh Golf Federation would continue to work closely with Asian Tour to identify a new date for the event once the Covid restrictions are withdrawn in later part of the year.
In other note, the PGTI ,BPGA and BGCC finalized a PGTI Tournament with world ranking points ‘Bangabhandu Chattogram Open 2022 with a prize money of $65000 from 7th March to 12 March 2022 at the personal initiative of GOC of 24 Infantry division and president ‘Bhatiary Golf and Country Club Maj Gen Md Saiful Abedin, BSP, SGP, ndc, psc .
The ‘First Security Islami Bank is likely to be the key sponsor for the third highest sponsored tournament in the history of Bangladesh Golf. BPGA also finalized another international professional tournament in September/October of 2022 as ‘Dhaka Open in Kurmitolla Golf Club.
The Trophy unveiling of both Bangabhandu Chattogram Open 2022 and Bangabhandu Dhaka Open 2022 are going to be held in the first week of February 2022.
The ceremony will be attended among others the CEO of PGTI Mr Uttam Singh Mundy and the President BPGA Lt Col Wahid .
It may be added , the BGCC has been organizing highest number of golf tournaments in 2021-2022 season.
